NOT a desert island.Desert Island Discs is a long-running program on BBC Radio 4. It was created by Roy Plomley in 1942 and is currently hosted by Kirsty Young. Each week a different guest is asked to choose the eight (only eight!) records they would take with them to a desert island. (Before the iPod was invented, space was a much more significant concern than it is these days...)
Past programs are documented on the Desert Island Discs website. Look for responses from Margaret Atwood, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and many others.
